Yesterday we went to a Lagoon-like amusement park outside of Brussels, called "Walabi" (after the Wallaby animal). It was fun and funny. Fun rides, and funny that there was a Wild West theme going on, in Belgium, where it all seems just strange. One very bothersome thing was the smoking--so many people here smoke, and when you are standing in line for a ride, it is really annoying. We spent the day and came home exhausted.
Today we went to church in Brussels, which was held in both French and English. We met some really nice people and found out the best place to buy chocolate in Brussels (gotta go there!). After church, we drove with Michele, her mom and her mom's boyfriend, to Dinant. It is outside of Brussels in the countryside on the Meuse River. The sky was blue and the scenery was breathtaking.
Dinant is the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, inventor of....the saxaphone, of course!
On the way home, we went even further out of the way and went to the monastery of Maredsous.
We also found Annie's very own Belgian town, the town of "Ahnee".
It was a beautiful day!
