Today we went to Ghent (as it is spelled in English) in the east Flanders area of Belgium. Much of the medieval architecture remains intact, and we got to see it. Here are some photos to show it:
Take a close look in the bottom right corner. Michele and Annie are there.
We also saw the medieval castle.
And we got to rest by the calm river in the beautiful city.
An exhausting day of beautiful architecture for Annie, who not only walked a lot and spent time seeing everything, but reminded us today is the Fourth of July by singing patriotic songs as we walked along the streets of Ghent.
Happy 4th of July!

Archetectual genius, that's what Ghent is! And I did see Annie and Michele in the bottom right corner. Happy Independence Day!
I can totally imagine her waltzing around and singing "America the Beautiful" while staring at a beautiful facade or some gothic architecture. We miss you guys! Soren still asks for Annie all the time!
Also, when you go to Paris, PLEASE go to the catacombs for me. There was this AWESOME article about all the crazy stuff underneath Paris in a national geographic at your house and the Catacombs look crazy cool. Please, PLEASE go. And take pictures.
