My family came to St. George on Saturday. It was a long weekend and I didn't really want to go back to Salt Lake and its frigid temps, so they came to us. :) They got here just in time for dinner on Saturday, and we packed in the fun from there.
We started at Jumpin' Jacks, since it had rained and was way too muddy to go on a hike. It was a hit with everyone, and even though I couldn't go because I'm pregnant, I followed everyone around and captured it all with my camera. The little guy LOVED it, but I think my brothers and sisters loved it just as much. They played until closing time. They had races through the obstacle course, Ethan and Annie did flips off of one of the slides, bounced around and we all just generally had a ball.
The Snyders were kind enough to have us all over for Sunday dinner and family home evening. It was nice to have all our family there together.
On Monday we drove to Nevada and went to Valley of Fire State Park. We hiked and explored the area around Mouse's Tank. Neil and I, in particular, have a lot of memories here - we did this hike when we were children.
The hike has some amazing petroglyphs and a lot of cool bouldering, caves, arches, tunnels, you name it. After we were done with the half mile hike, we spent another hour or two exploring.
I promise I only look fat in this picture because I have such good posture when I'm pregnant. |
The little guy discovered how much he likes eating dirt on the hike back to the car. Ethan says he was actually chewing it and exclaiming, "mmm! taytee!" We do feed this kid - his 28 lbs should be enough evidence.
I am so glad they came down to visit. We've all missed them, and it meant a whole lot to see them and to have them come down for a visit. We love you, Reeds.
