Mom's in New Zealand

Kira Ora!
Yep, I made it here okay. We got in to Auckland about 7am this morning (Saturday, here in New Zealand.} Our plane was half full, and I even got my own set of three seats which helped with the sleeping a little during our all night flight.

We took the shuttle in to our hotel in town, dropped off our suitcases, and immediately started to check out Auckland. In the morning we went on a harbor tour. It beautiful to see the harbor and the Auckland skyline from the water. We went briefly to Rangitoto, a 600 year young volcano in the harbor. We walked around the downtown, and also took the ferry to Davenport, and walked around there too. One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing a group of boats sailing in and out of the harbor. There were 30 or more boats, and they looked beautiful on the water.

Fall is coming to Auckland. It seems really weird, when it hadn't decided to be Spring in Utah yet when I left, but that is what happens when you go from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere. The climiate is much more mild, though, than Utah, as it never gets blow the 40's. There are still many tropical flowers out, in the foilage. I love it here!! I could totally live here, if my family were here too.

But they are not. For two days, though, it sure is great to be here.
