Final Days

Today I pushed David out the door. We went and saw the pink dolphins where are river comes into the Amazon. We were on an actual split half of the Amazon for about ten minutes. I would like to see the Amazon in one big piece which is not possible in my current situation, but I can see me coming back to delve into the deep unexplored jungle far away from here where there is no jungle, and maybe back to this river.

Anyways there were lots of dolphins by the dock. We saw lost of them. To back up a little I touched one yesterday at a touristic zoo beach place just outside of town. I jumped in the river to swim with them but they are scared of people. We then took a boat up a river, walked through a nieghbourhoodish jungle area where we stumbled upon a cheesy Indian village setup for tourists. After coming back we ate lunch which was good. In desperation to get out I caused David to dump the vital siesta to go to a Coca Cola like pool lake thing where we swam with David and his two uncles and also made sand castles. All of Davids uncles are very young. I think his mom is teaching agriculture, and his dad cooks fish in the market. His dad has taken four days off to cook for us. David is learning to work at a lodge some place which a rotarian hooke up for him. David is the oldest of the grandkids. In the house we have his grandparents uncles aunts and cousins.

We may go to Nauta tomorow which is a ways away on another river which means we are finished with the amazon river. We have one day left. I am sad and do not want this trip to end. The day I get home is the day I start working, which will probably not end forever. Oh well. I will see you soon
